Our board is made up of volunteers with a variety of amazing skills and passions that help make our society function.

Alex Magliocchi

Festival Coordinator

Alex joined our team in 2025 as our Festival Coordinator and has been passionately helping bring our community festivals to life ever since. With a strong background in event management and administration, Alex brings the perfect combination of organization, creativity, and enthusiasm to the role.
Her dedication to creating memorable experiences, supporting community connections, and ensuring every detail comes together has made her an invaluable part of our team. Alex’s passion for events and love for our community shine through in everything she does.
Outside of festival planning, Alex enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and their two dogs. She is also an active member of the local running community, where she enjoys staying connected and embracing the outdoors.

Ashley Daigle

President

Ashley was born and raised in BC’s Lower Mainland and moved to Prince Rupert 14 years ago. Since then, she has built a life here with her husband, daughters, and their adorable little dog, and is proud to call Prince Rupert home.

A passionate community supporter, Ashley has always gravitated toward leadership and volunteer roles, helping bring people together and support local initiatives. Family and community are at the heart of everything she does.

When she’s not working or volunteering, you’ll find Ashley on the baseball field, enjoying the sport she loves and spending time with family and friends.

Shelbi Dalzell

Vice-President

Shelbi is the current Vice President of PRSES and has been involved with the society for the past three years.

Having moved to Prince Rupert approximately six years ago, Shelbi spent the first few years settling into the community before deciding to join PRSES.

Being actively involved in the community has always been important to her, and she believes that fostering community connections is at the heart of what PRSES is all about.

Robyn Martin

Robyn serves as the Treasurer for the Prince Rupert Special Events Society, bringing her attention to detail, organization, and commitment to the community to the role.

With her professional experience working with the School District, Robyn brings valuable administrative and financial skills that help support the success of our events and operations.

Robyn enjoys being part of the team that helps bring community celebrations to life and takes pride in contributing behind the scenes to make our festivals possible.

Outside of her work and volunteer commitments, Robyn enjoys spending her time on the golf course, embracing the outdoors and enjoying the local community.

Jim Martin

Jim is an invaluable member of the Prince Rupert Special Events Society team, supporting our equipment rental program by helping keep our inventory organized, maintained, and accounted for. Jim also serves as our Lead Fireworks Technician, bringing years of experience, knowledge, and a strong commitment to safety to every show.

As a retired firefighter, Jim’s background makes him a perfect fit for this important role, combining his expertise, calm approach, and passion for creating memorable community celebrations.

Beyond his work with PRSES, Jim is an active member of the local Lions Club and is always willing to lend a helping hand. You can often find him behind the BBQ at community events, sharing his time, skills, and friendly spirit to help bring people together.

Robin Beattie

Robin is an important member of the Prince Rupert Special Events Society team, supporting our equipment rental program. His dedication, reliability, and willingness to lend a hand make him an invaluable part of our operations. He is also a skilled fireworks technician, helping deliver the spectacular displays that bring our festivals to life.

Outside of PRSES, Robin enjoys playing computer games with his kids, and board games with his friends. Robin is also a member of the Rangers and spending time in the outdoors.

Robin’s commitment to our events is unmatched — you will often find him among the first to arrive and the last to leave, making sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish. We truly appreciate Robin’s enthusiasm, hard work, and dedication as an active member of the Prince Rupert Special Events Society team.

Jessica Sallenback

Meet Jessica Sallenback! Jessica has been a board member with the Prince Rupert Special Events Society for three years and is always happy to lend a hand (or several).

As the Manager of the Lester Centre of the Arts, she spends her days surrounded by creativity and her evenings finding new ways to support the community.

Her special talents include volunteering, event planning, and saying "yes" to just one more project.

Bev Killbery

Bev joined the Prince Rupert Special Events Society in 2009 as a Director, becoming an active part of the team behind many of our community festivals over the years. Her dedication and commitment to the organization led her to serve as Vice President for five years, followed by five years as President. Today, Bev continues to support PRSES as a Director and Historical Adviser, sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion for community events.

Beyond her work with PRSES, Bev has been deeply involved in the Prince Rupert Community Hallowe’en Fest Society, serving on the committee from 2008 to 2025 before the festival officially became part of the PRSES lineup. She has also been an active member of the Rotary Club of Prince Rupert since 2015, completing her 10-year term at the end of June 2026. In 2021/2022, Bev had the honour of serving as Club President during Rotary’s 100th anniversary year in Prince Rupert.

Outside of her community commitments, Bev enjoys giving back alongside her husband Bob by helping with bottle sorting from donations collected for the Prince Rupert Wildlife Shelter. Having called Prince Rupert home on three separate occasions, Bev and Bob made their most recent move back to the community in 2008, where they continue to contribute their time, energy, and passion to making Prince Rupert a better place.

Dave Main

Dave joined the Prince Rupert Special Events Society in 2026, bringing with him a wealth of community involvement and a passion for giving back. His experience with the Prince Rupert Lions Club, where he actively participates in many community activities and initiatives, has provided him with a strong foundation in volunteerism and supporting local events.

Dave’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community makes him a valuable addition to the PRSES team. He enjoys being part of the events that bring people together and create memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike.

Outside of his community involvement, Dave enjoys travelling with his wife and spending time with their two pups, Daisy and Dixie.

Johnathen Clarke

Johnathen is a newer member of the Prince Rupert Special Events Society, but he is certainly not new to volunteering or being involved in community events. His passion for giving back and bringing people together makes him a great addition to the PRSES team.

With a strong passion for fitness, Johnathen brings energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to every event he is involved with. His drive and commitment help create the welcoming and engaging atmosphere that makes our community celebrations so special.

Outside of volunteering, Johnathen enjoys spending time with his wife and baby, as well as exploring his interests in Japanese culture and art. His curiosity, dedication, and community spirit make him a valued member of our team.
