Since 1992 the Prince Rupert Special Events Society (PRSES) has been proudly at the helm of some of Prince Rupert’s best community events; Seafest, Winterfest, Children’s Fest and the Canada Day Celebrations. Every year the dedicated Board of Directors round up the community to participate and enjoy the fun activities in rain or shine! Businesses and organizations are encouraged to get creative and take part in the festivals by hosting activities for the community members to relish.
PRSES is a non-profit organization that relies on the kindness, support, and generosity of the community to donate funds towards the festivals. Our society is run by a volunteer Board of Directors that meet on a monthly basis to organize the four annual community festivals. There are many aspects that need to be considered in order to put on a festival, such as logistics, entertainment, vendors, and more. The Directors learn many new skills and share their expertise while committing volunteer hours to these festivals and we encourage the members of the community to volunteer their time for the betterment of their community. We believe that when like-minded people get together, there is an explosion of excitement and ideas for wonderful events to be created!
